After watching the sun move across the deck, I’ve decided that the best thing to do for plants on a shadeless deck is to move the plants to points of greatest shade.
So? A re-do of my “deck landscaping”. First? Move the grill out from under the shade umbrella (duh.) Next? Push the large pots under said umbrella. Then, move the shelf-thingy next to the house, ’cause that’s where the shade first settles in during the post-noon hours.
I’ll probably still move the smaller pots indoors during bigtime heat. But this is a good fix for non-95+ days.
And I’m surprised at the room these small shifts have opened up out there. Seems more spacious somehow.
