I like hiking. But as a short person who couldn’t defend herself to save her life, I have to wait for a pal to go with. Luckily, a friend has been dying for once a week hikes…. So getting to know local parks? Done and done!
This week was Soldier’s Delight National Environmental Area, a state park up by Owings Mills. Very pretty, very quiet and very rustic. As in iffy trail maintenance. But since this is an environmental area and not a park, that’s kosher.
The weird and groovy thing? We got to experience four seasons on our hour long hike: bright and warm sunshine, rain, blustery wind…and snow. Oh hey and also hail. Yep, all in an hour. I kinda dug it.
